RCA-KC presented its annual "Of the Year" awards on March 5, 2009.  The top honor, traditionally called "REALTOR® of the Year," was renamed this year.

"Earlier this year, the Kansas City commercial real estate brokerage community lost an industry icon when Allen Block passed away at the age of 93," said Jon Hitchcock, who served as emcee at the reception where the awards were made. "Mr. Block embodied the virtues and ethics of what it means to be a commercial REALTOR®, and was a life-long supporter of our association and our industry. In honor of Allen's service to the commercial REALTOR® community, the RCA-KC REALTOR® of the year Award, the most prestigious honor bestowed by our association, will now be known as the Allen J. Block REALTOR® of the Year Award."
